SURROUNDED

4. Surrounded and Overpowered.

Suzanne moved in the next morning. They got her things and she settled
into the last guest room. As Diana had hoped Grant was fine with it. Having
another smoking female in his house delighted him, though he didn't admit
that to anyone but Diana. And Diana, of course, was ecstatic. It was an
unexpected extra opportunity to keep the pressure on poor Janine. Ellie's
exams were finished so she was around the house almost all day. Diana
encouraged Ellie to smoke as much as possible with Suzanne to more firmly
ensnare Janine's friend in growing addiction. Little Ellie happily
complied. She purposed to became Suzanne's constant companion around the
house and, more important, someone who would encourage Suzanne to smoke at
every turn.

Janine felt both happy and sad with Suzanne living there. Happy, because
she liked Suzanne. She simply liked having her around. She never liked
Suzanne's mom and understood why her friend wouldn't compromise with the
old bag. But sadly Janine knew what was likely to happen if Suzanne lived
in the same house with her mom and Ellie. And almost immediately it did.
Suzanne started smoking a lot more. Her personal stress and the stimulus of
living with other smokers quickly accelerated Suzanne's growing fondness
for nicotine. In no time Suzanne was up to a pack a day and enjoying the
hell out of smoking more!

By now Janine had grown used to living in secondhand smoke. She hardly
even noticed it anymore. At first Suzanne tried to not smoke around her.
But soon she forgot her good intentions and began to smoke even if Janine
was nearby. Janine wasn't surprised. She knew it'd happen eventually. But
it didn't bother her much. The more Suzanne smoked the happier she seemed,
and Janine liked seeing her friend happy.

Gradually Suzanne began to lean more and more on her new habit for
support. Nicotine helped her to cope. Drags on Suzanne's cigarettes became
harder and more frequent. Her inhales grew deeper. Unconsciously she
adopted Diana's and Ellie's smoking distinctives. By the time Christmas
rolled around Suzanne's prior casual smoking had developed into bona fide
nicotine addition. Just as her friend Crystal had predicted weeks earlier,
Suzanne was finally a smoker. She didn't care. In truth she liked it and,
much to Janine's apparent chagrin, she even began to tease her old friend
about being the last holdout in the house.

Janine knew her own feelings about smoking were changing. It didn't
bother her anymore. She hardly even noticed if her mom, Grant, Ellie or
Suzanne lit up. No longer did she think her clothes stunk. The aroma simply
smelled normal. It was around her all the time and it began to blend into
the background. The house didn't smell smoky; it smelled natural. Diana's
plan was working even though Janine wasn't consciously aware of it. Smoking
itself slowly and imperceptibly began to look different to her. It no
longer seemed disgusting. Having other people smoking around her seemed
normal, natural. And there was no denying how much poor Suzanne's spirits
lifted every time her friend lit up cigarettes and smoked. Janine caught
herself wondering if maybe she misjudged it. Perhaps smoking wasn't so bad
after all!

Suzanne was going to drive to her dad's to spend Christmas Day. Before
she left on Christmas Eve afternoon Janine cornered Suzanne in her bedroom.
She sat on the bed while her friend packed an overnight bag.

"Suzanne, you seem to really like smoking, don't you?"

The pretty brunette nodded and smiled. "Yeah, I know it makes you mad,
Janine. But yes, I do. You think it's stupid because it's bad for me. But I
don't care. I do like it."

"I know. But explain it to me, please. I'm serious. I've done a lot of
thinking. My mom wishes I'd smoke, as I guess you've figured."

"Yeah, it's pretty obvious. That's weird, I suppose, but I can tell. I
think your mom hopes that if you smoked it'd get rid of the tension you
feel about her smoking. Right?"

Janine agreed. "That's what she says. God, she sure seems to like
smoking with you and Ellie. Mom and Ellie have gotten much closer since
they started sharing cigarettes. They like doing it together. I never
thought I'd say this, but I'm sort of jealous."

   "Just sort of jealous?"

"Okay, very jealous. And now you have that same connection with them.
You all smoke together all the time. God, I don't know. Maybe I should just
try it myself."

Suzanne reached for her cigarettes and shook one out. "You know I'd
never tell you what to do. But I think you'd like it, Janine. I know I do!"
She lit up. "God, I _never_ get tired of doing this," she added dreamily,
slowly releasing a mixed nostril and mouth exhale. "I never imagined this
would happen. When I experimented with Crystal I never intended to become a
smoker like her. I just did it to be sociable. But after I started down the
road, well, I couldn't turn back. And I didn't want to, either. I _had_ to
keep going. And it's great!"

Suzanne lifted her cigarette to her lips for a forceful drag. She sucked
the smoke into her chest and visibly raised her breasts in order to make
room inside for the velvety substance. She held it in her lungs and smiled
happily. "Janine, if you learn to smoke it'll delight your mom. It'd please
everybody, including yours truly!" She smiled and released a creamy exhale.

Janine slowly nodded. "Yeah, I know. God, I may be an idiot, but what
the hell? Do you think you can teach me to smoke, Suzanne?"

The brunette beamed. "Yeah, sure. I'll do it like Crystal taught me.
God, Janine, this is so fuckin' cool! I'm so glad you're finally going to
smoke with us!"

"Hold on, Suzanne. I'm just trying it out, remember?"

"Oh, come on, Janine! No one just 'tries' it. Don't be silly. There's a
name for all the people who just 'try' it. You know who I'm talking about?
They're called smokers!"

Despite herself Janine had to laugh. Meanwhile with an unlit cigarette
Suzanne began to show her the basics; how to light up a cigarette, how to
hold it, how to puff and so on. Finally Janine pronounced herself ready to
try it.

Suzanne lit a Marlboro Light 100 and handed it over. After taking it
Janine carefully turned it in her hand, examining it warily. She'd held a
burning cigarette once; it was the night Suzanne told her mom she smoked
and ended up crying her eyes out in the family room. Janine had held a
cigarette for her that night. She even de-ashed it once. But that time it
was Suzanne's cigarette. This time it was hers; her very own cigarette!
God, it was so weird!

"Ready?" Suzanne's eyes sparkled. "Are you excited?"

"Yeah, in fact, I am, sort of," Janine admitted, still guardedly eyeing
the smoldering cylinder between her fingers. She giggled and looked up. "I
can't believe I'm actually going to try it," she laughed. "For years I
yelled at Mom about smoking. I was so glad she quit. And now ?." She
paused. "Now I'm going to smoke one of these damn cigarettes myself!"

"Don't worry. It'll be great," Suzanne promised. "It takes awhile to get
used to. But soon you'll love it, Janine. I swear." She laughed at the
frightened look on her friend's face. "Come on. Just get it over with. Go
ahead. Have yourself a drag!"

The blond-haired girl nodded. Janine slowly raised the cigarette to her
lips. Smoke curled from its burning tip and lazily wafted right into her
face. It didn't bother her, though. She hardly noticed. Constant exposure
to smoke during the holiday break had fully acclimated her. She stole
another quick look at her grinning friend and mentor, took a deep breath,
and inserted the smoky white filter tip into her trembling lips.

Janine pulled on the cigarette. She felt unusual warmth inside her mouth
as it filled up with smoke. It felt warmer than she expected; warm, but not
bad. As instructed she removed the cigarette and promptly blew out the
smoke.

Suzanne was so excited she looked like she'd explode. "Well? How is it?"

Janine shrugged and began nervously manicuring her cigarette in the
ashtray. "Oh, it's not so bad," she said lackadaisically. Then she grinned.
"Actually, it's fine. I suppose it's because I've been around it so long
that I didn't have any negative reaction."

"Wow, that's great," Suzanne bubbled. "So? Try it again, stupid!"

Emboldened by her successful first puff Janine put the cigarette to her
lips and sealed them over the filter once more. This time she dragged
harder. It felt fine. Somewhat impulsively she decided to inhale. She knew
real smoking meant pulling smoke into your lungs.

Janine took the cigarette from her mouth and breathed in. The thick
inhaled substance hit her chest like a body slam. She gasped. It wasn't
bad, exactly. It felt ? . God, it felt good; surprisingly good, actually.
Her lungs accepted the smoky deposit without serious objection. Pleased
with herself Janine smiled gracefully, pursed her lips and began an exhale.

Suzanne shrieked "Oh my God! Janine, you inhaled! You really inhaled!
Wow! Unbelievable! That was really great!" She paused. "How do you feel?"

Janine put the cigarette in the ashtray. "Fine," she sighed uncertainly.
She put her head in her hands. "But oh my God, it's an amazing head-rush!
As soon as I did it, it felt like someone hit me in the chest. But it
wasn't bad; just strange. I think it felt good; really good, in fact," she
added, still trying to assess her reaction.

Her brunette friend laughed. "Most people cough the first time they
inhale. I did. However you did it like a pro. I suppose it's because you're
surrounded by smokers in a house full of smoke. I guess it's not much of a
shock to your lungs because they're so familiar with it."

Janine nodded. "I suppose. But I have to tell you. It's _totally_
different breathing it into your lungs, isn't it? It's not at all like
being around other people smoking!" She looked at Suzanne. "And so that's
it, right? I mean that's all there is to it? Smoking, I mean?"

"Yeah, basically," her friend acknowledged. "I'd like you to try it
again if you can."

Feeling more confident Janine picked up the cigarette and put it back in
her mouth. This time she wasn't nervous. For a couple seconds she pulled on
it, sensing the same peculiar warm feeling as last time. She let her mouth
again fill up with the thick, rich creamy smoke and then breathed in. Once
more she felt a jolt in her chest. It was a tight feeling, almost heavy. It
felt constricting and liberating at the same time. Nicotine began soaking
into her bloodstream. She felt dizziness. She pursed her lips to exhale.
Again from her mouth flowed an unbroken stream of creamy white smoke that
came up from deep inside her young body.

   "How was it this time?"

Janine nodded, but her head was still spinning. "Okay," she confirmed.
"Yeah, it's fine."

"Great," Suzanne effusively grinned. "Do you like it?"

The blond paused. "Yeah, I think," she blushed. She laughed. "God, it's
so strange inside my lungs when I inhale it. But it's not bad. No, not bad
at all. I can see why you like it."

"It only gets better the more you smoke," Suzanne assured her. "Can I
have a drag?"

"Sure, be my guest." Janine handed her the cigarette.

Her brunette friend took a much harder hit. She opened her mouth to let
the smoke hang in the air a split second. After that she inhaled, pulling
it deep inside. "Ah," Suzanne sighed, reveling in the pleasant sensation.
"Yeah, that's _so_ nice." She breathed out and a thick stream of smoke
escaped her lips. "Welcome to smoking, Janine," she said before handing it
back.

Janine retrieved it. "Thanks. I'll try it a few more times. Then I think
I'll stop, for now at least," she added mischievously. Her next drag pulled
more nicotine-laden smoke into her lungs. It got easier each time she did
it. But the heady sensation she felt nearly overwhelmed her. She purposely
smiled and exhaled. "I think I can do this," she confidently asserted.
"Yeah, I really think I can. If I want to I think I could smoke!"

"Absolutely. You bet you could," Suzanne nodded eagerly. "And you will,
too, won't you, honey? You'll start to smoke? You'll smoke with the rest of
us now?" Suzanne awaited her friend's reaction. Slowly but surely, grinning
mischievously, Janine breathlessly nodded her head up and down. Suzanne
squealed with delight. "Oh my God! This is _so_ fuckin' fabulous! Like I
said before, Janine, welcome. This is so neat!"

Janine hit on her cigarette. She inhaled and released another long
exhale. "Yeah, Suzanne, I think I actually agree. I finally get it. God, I
really do! At last I understand. I really do want to learn to do this." The
pretty blond laughed and quickly dragged another time. "Shit," she giggled
as she exhaled. "I never thought I'd ever, ever say this. But I think I
really want to be a smoker!"

Janine finished the cigarette. Having made the decision she felt super
excited. But timing was everything. She told Suzanne she wanted to announce
her change of attitude to her mom, her sister and Grant. But she wanted to
do it Christmas morning, as sort of a Christmas present to the three of
them. That depressed Suzanne because she wouldn't be there. She'd be with
her dad Christmas Day. But she understood why Janine wanted to tell her
story at that particular time and in that special way. She promised not to
say a word to anyone.

Suzanne left for her dad's late afternoon on Christmas Eve. Early that
evening Janine, Ellie and Diana went to Christmas Eve mass. Grant wasn't
Catholic so he stayed home. At church Janine saw Suzanne's mother in a pew
all alone. She felt sorry for Mrs. Martin. It was so dumb for her to
distance herself from her daughter over something as trivial and
insignificant as smoking. Janine smiled as she thought about it. She knew
she herself had come a long way in a short time regarding her own attitudes
about the supposedly filthy habit.

Driving to and from church in the car both Ellie and Diana smoked. After
her earlier experiment with Suzanne the smell didn't at all trouble Janine.
To her amazement it almost smelled good! Momentarily she thought about
telling them then and there. But she decided to wait. She wanted the
maximum reaction and she expected it'd be very positive the next morning.

Later that night, after everyone else had been in bed for awhile, Janine
secretively scurried down the stairs into the kitchen, to find herself a
pack of cigarettes. It wasn't difficult. She soon found an open pack on the
kitchen counter. With bated breath from the pack she shook out a single
cigarette and secured a disposable lighter and an empty ashtray that sat
nearby. Furtively concealing her plunder underneath her robe Janine quietly
and quickly returned to her room. She locked the door and turned off the
light. The only illumination in the room was her small nightlight. She
sighed and giggled. She _had_ to practice again. She had to! No, that
wasn't true, she realized. It wasn't that she had to. No, actually she
_wanted_ to practice more! She rationalized to herself that she only wanted
to improve her proficiency so she could do it right the next day.
Regardless of her true motivations, and not sure of them herself, with
trembling fingers the nervous teen slowly raised the unlit cigarette to her
lips. In the darkness her heart raced. She clicked the lighter. The flame's
brightness cast stark shadows on the walls. She grinned. She felt just like
a kid doing something she wasn't allowed to. But that was dumb. This was
_exactly_ what she was supposed to do at that moment. She touched the flame
to the tip of the cigarette that dangled from her mouth. She sucked.

Smoke filled her mouth but it didn't stay in there long. Janine breathed
it into her chest. It didn't feel bad; not at all. Like it did earlier with
Suzanne the smoke in her lungs felt quite refreshing. She pursed her lips
to slowly release an exhale into the air. Smoky shadows danced on the wall,
inspired by the soft glow of her nightlight. God, she liked it. She
actually liked it!

Without a sound she sucked repeatedly on the burning cigarette, time and
again pulling more nicotine-laden smoke deep inside her eager body. God, it
was amazing! She truly _did_ like it! She hardly believed her reaction. But
on the other hand it didn't surprise her too much. After all, hearing her
mom, Ellie and Suzanne talk the last few weeks, she knew all about
nicotine's beguiling power. The addictive influence of that marvelous smoky
substance, with which at that very moment she was regaling her grateful
lungs, was fuckin' undeniable! She grinned evilly, deashed her cigarette,
and continued to smoke it drag after successive drag. Despite of her old
prejudices, she was getting the distinct impression that doing this for her
mom, her little sister and Grant wouldn't turn out to be much of a
sacrifice! Finally she finished the cigarette, crushing it in the ashtray.
She slid it and the lighter under her bed. Now more than ever she felt
certain that she'd wind up using them again!

Christmas morning arrived the next day, and Diana and her daughters
celebrated with Grant. He had a large tree in the living room and the four
of them gathered there to exchange gifts. In addition to the spending spree
at the mall, Grant bought several other nice gifts for Diana's girls.
Janine and Ellie were surprised and pleased. They hadn't expected such
generosity.

While chatting and opening gifts the other three drank coffee and
smoked. Janine noted how effortless it was. Her mom, her sister and Grant
each lit up cigarettes one after another, just like clockwork. Their
smoking effortlessly blended in with the festivities. In no time the air in
the living room was thick with ambient smoke. Ashtrays filled up quick.
Janine smiled. Her last present to Diana would be the one her mother wanted
most.

Finally the time arrived. Janine steeled herself and spoke up.

"Uh, Mom, I have one last present for you."

Diana cocked her head. "Oh? There's nothing left under the tree?"

"Yeah, I know. This gift isn't under the tree." Janine smiled and
gulped. "Pass me your cigarettes and I'll show you this last present."

With her heart in her mouth Diana slid her pack of Marlboro Lights 100s
over the floor. Could it be? Was it possible? On pins and needles Diana
watched her daughter reach into the pack and remove one long white
cigarette from inside.

"I know you want me to do this," Janine said matter-of-factly. "You've
wanted it for a long time now. I thought today would be the perfect time to
finally give you what you want." She slipped the cigarette in her mouth.
"Pass me your lighter, Mom."

Diana did. Janine clicked the lighter and let the flame touch the end of
the cigarette hanging from her lips. She took a first drag and her mouth
filled with smoke. She breathed it in, drawing it down into her lungs just
as she did the day before. It felt nice inside; in her lungs was a
pleasant, warm full sensation. She smiled, pursed her lips and steadily
breathed out. Exhaled smoke cascaded from her mouth in a thick mist.
"There! How's that?"

Diana warmly smiled. She glanced at Ellie before returning her gaze to
her elder daughter. "God, it looks great, honey. But how do _you_ like it?"

Janine shrugged. "I like it fine. Suzanne showed me how to do it
yesterday before she left. I did a lot of thinking about this. I finally
knew I wanted to join you guys. I'm tired of being left out." She returned
the cigarette to her mouth for another hit. "I want to be able to smoke
along with you from now on," she added, holding it in her lungs before she
exhaled another long stream of blue-gray smoke through her lips. "I'm tired
of being on the outside."

Ellie squealed. "Oh my God, Sis! Wow! This is great. I'm so excited. Mom
and I've been hoping this would happen!"

Janine smirked. "Yeah, I know. Since I got home from college you've
schemed and plotted to get me to smoke. Well, it finally worked. It got to
where I just couldn't hold out anymore. Once Suzanne started smoking with
you, I knew I'd have to try it sooner or later. Yesterday afternoon when I
finally had my first cigarette I actually liked it, I suppose because I was
already used to it. After all, I've been surrounded by smoke the last few
weeks," she grinned. "So I decided Christmas morning was the perfect time
to make my announcement. Merry Christmas, Mom. You, too, Ellie and Grant."

Diana reached for another cigarette of her own. "So what are your plans,
honey?" She lit up. "Will you start smoking all the time like we do?"

"God, I don't know," Janine honestly admitted. She reached out to tap an
ash into one of the ashtrays on the floor. "I like smoking okay so far. I'm
not hooked yet or anything, though. Maybe that'll happen and maybe it
won't. Right now I don't know what I want. So I plan to take it one day at
a time for now."

"Well, Janine, that sounds smart. But if you're like Ellie and me, and I
suspect you are, then pretty soon you'll want to smoke on a fairly regular
basis. For now, though, do it as much and as often as you feel like. Just
let your own appetite be your guide, honey." Diana reached out to grab
Janine's free hand. "But thanks for the wonderful Christmas present, dear,"
her mother smiled sincerely. "It's the best gift I got this year, bar
none!"

"You're welcome, Mom," Janine smiled back. She self-consciously raised
her cigarette to her lips and hit on it. "It really isn't hard to do, you
know. It really isn't!"

"It's the easiest thing in the world," Ellie interrupted. "And trust me,
Sis, it keeps getting easier. Stick with it a few days and before you know
it you won't want to ever stop!"

Grant cut in. "Janine, I'm sorry you felt pressured. But watching your
mom I know smoking cigarettes again after a long five year hiatus has made
her feel much, much happier. Diana's so content now, so peaceful, since
she's able to light one up whenever she's tense or stressed out. Before you
got home, Janine, Diana was terribly worried how you'd react to her renewed
cigarette habit. She didn't want her smoking to come between you." He
paused as the novice college girl hit on her cigarette once more. "I'm just
so pleased that won't happen!"

Janine released an exhale. "Thanks, Grant. I know being with you has
made Mom truly happy. I suppose since you smoke there was no way she
could've held out and not started smoking again. Anyway, Mom loves it,
Ellie loves it and so do you. I guess I may as well learn to love it, too."

Grant cleared his throat. "Diana, Janine was wrong about one thing."

"Oh?" the older blond woman said, raising her eyebrows. She held her
cigarette cocked beside her face. "And what's that?"

"Janine's wasn't the last Christmas present," Grant went on. "I have a
little something for you. Let me go and get it."

The three women looked at each other while Grant quickly left the room.
He reentered with a small wrapped box in his hand. "This is for you, Diana.
Merry Christmas!"

Diana gasped as she undid the ribbon. Afraid to voice her suspicion she
unwrapped the package in silence.

"It's really two things," Grant smiled. "The second gift is underneath
the first."

"Whatever it is it's from a jewelry store," Diana giggled excitedly. She
opened the lid. She was mildly disappointed but she hid it well. "Oh my
God! Look at this, girls!"

Out of the box Diana lifted a tiny, stylish, gold engraved cigarette
lighter. "Oh Grant, it's beautiful and so elegant!"

"It's for my favorite smoker," he grinned. "Read the inscription on the
side."

Diana held it close. "It says 'Grant and Diana, twelve twenty five oh
?.'" She didn't finish. She gave him a strange look. "It's inscribed with
our names and today's date?"

"Right. Now look underneath the cotton in the box for gift number two!"

Diana did and squealed. "Oh my God, it's a ring!"

"An engagement ring," Grant smiled as she lifted it out. "Diana, honey,
will you make me the happiest man on earth and marry me?"

"Oh God, Grant, yes," Diana exclaimed. "Yes, yes, yes!" She leaped
across the room and planted a big kiss on his lips. "Oh, Grant, I said
Janine's gift was the best present this year. But now that's not true.
Darling, this is the happiest I've been since I can remember!"

Janine and Ellie looked at each other. "It looks like Grant trumped your
present," Ellie snickered. "But don't be discouraged, Janine. I know she
still likes your gift!"

Diana laughed and picked up her cigarette from the ashtray. "That's
right, Ellie, because this year at Christmas I finally have the three most
important things in the world. First, this year finally I'm able to smoke
again. God, I'm so happy about that because I missed smoking _so_ much!
Second, I now have both my lovely daughters joining in and smoking
alongside me. Third, and just as important, I'm with a wonderful man who
doesn't hate me because I smoke. He doesn't mind that smoking's so
important to me. Instead he actually _wants_ me to smoke and loves me
because I love it!" She kissed Grant. "God, thank you so much, all three of
you! Damn, this is the absolute best Christmas ever!"

Grant hesitated. "I also have another present for both you girls." He
reached in his pocket. "I wasn't sure if it'd work out for me to give it to
you today, Janine, but I'm delighted that it turns out I can after all."

Both teenagers hurriedly opened their presents. Ellie squealed
excitedly. "Oh, gold lighters that are identical to Mom's. Oh my God,
Grant, mine is _so_ cool. Thank you!"

Janine grinned. "Take a look at the inscription, Ellie. If it's like
mine it's inscribed with today's date like Mom's. But mine says 'To Janine,
From Dad.'" She smiled at Grant and lifted the cigarette in her hand.
"Thanks, Grant. But how'd you know I'd want this?"

"I talked to Suzanne," Grant impishly cackled. "She already knew what I
intended to give Diana Christmas morning. I told her ahead of time because
I knew she wouldn't be here to see it. Yesterday Suzanne called me from her
car on her way to her dad's, despite the fact that she smoked you she
wouldn't say a word about your decision. Suzanne eagerly told me all about
how finally you gave in and at long last checked out smoking for yourself,
Janine. She said your first cigarette went real well and that you intended
to surprise us by telling us this morning. So late yesterday afternoon I
decided to mark the occasion and celebrate by getting both you girls gold
lighters identical to the one I got Diana." He let out a big grin. "I must
tell you, ladies, that after all my purchases at his store this Christmas
season the guy at the jewelry store sure loves to see me walk through his
door!"

Ellie walked over and wrapped her arms around Grant and Diana. "Grant,
thanks! I want you to know it'll be a real pleasure to finally be able to
call you 'Dad!'"

"I totally agree with my little sister, Grant," Janine sincerely chimed
in. She took a modest drag from her cigarette and released a bountiful
exhale into the air. "Plus, I strongly suspect that I'll soon learn to love
using this exquisitely elegant gold lighter!"

And that's exactly what happened. Janine smoked the rest of Christmas
Day. She couldn't match the input of her sister, her mom and Grant, of
course. But by bedtime she'd smoked ten cigarettes. Janine wanted to like
it. She was truly beginning to get the hang of it. Ellie and Diana were
delighted by this turn of events. A new calm settled over the household.

That night Diana and Grant were sitting in bed. Grant was reading but
Diana was busy admiring her new engagement ring. "God, Grant, it's so
beautiful," she finally declared. "But are you sure you really want to
marry me?"

"Diana, how can you even ask such a dumb question?" Grant beamed. "I
love you and your daughters are adorable. Who could ask for a better family
situation?"

"You sure as hell aren't disappointed that my little scheme to get
Janine smoking worked to perfection, either, now are you?" She teasingly
poked him in the stomach. "I saw how you scrutinized Janine all day. You
absolutely loved seeing the new smoker in our little family go at it so
enthusiastically, now didn't you? It made you very happy!"

"Yeah, well, what can I say, Diana? You know me too damn well! To me
nothing's more attractive than seeing a beautiful woman of any age smoking
a cigarette. And knowing that we're watching young Janine's maiden voyage
only makes it that much more enjoyable!"

Diana reached out to her bedside table. She retrieved herself a
cigarette. "You dirty pervert," she teased wickedly before she paused to
light up a Marlboro Light 100 for herself. "That's very evil, Grant," she
said in a tantalizing tone while smoke rushed from her mouth. "You're a
real bad boy. So I'm afraid you must be punished again!" She leaned over
and locked her lips on his. Smoke continued to escape from the corners of
her mouth while they embraced.

"Diana, I love you," he moaned. "God, do I ever love you!"

"Cut all that romantic bullshit, Grant, baby, and let's just fuck!
Okay?" Diana passionately reached for his cock. Using her other hand she
drew on her cigarette and kissed him again. "Being a totally smoking family
is gonna make us all happy for lots of different reasons," she whispered.
"First, Janine will finally appreciate the pleasure of nicotine addiction
like all the rest of us smokers. Ellie at long last gets to have her big
sister as a smoking buddy while I get another live-in friend to smoke with.
And you, Grant, you get to watch it all! But remember, baby, only one of us
gets to fuck you around here!"

"But you're the only one I want, Diana," Grant moaned back. "Now shut up
and kiss me again, you sexy little nicotine addict!"

   And so Diana did!
